Digitisation Pilot Project Update

The Baring Archive has made significant progress with its six-month pilot project to make its archives on Argentina more accessible.
6958 documents telling the story of Baring’s business in Argentina have now been imaged. The documents cover the period 1814 to 1925.
Business History Conference 2019 call for papers

The 2019 Annual Meeting of the Business History Conference will take place at the Hilton Cartagena de Indias, Colombia from 14-16 March 2019.
The theme of the conference will be Globalization and De-Globalization: Shifts of Power and Wealth.

Francis Baring portrait on loan to Bowood House

The Baring Archive’s portrait of Sir Francis Baring, founder of Barings is now on a long term loan to Bowood House.
Bowood House in Wiltshire has been home to the Lansdowne family since 1754 and houses a wealth of unique art and antiques with many historical treasures.
Digitising the Baring Archive

The Baring Archive is about to embark on a major digitisation project to make its archives on Latin America more accessible.
We hope that through this project we will begin to open up the collection to a wider audience to enable researchers to use the archives from anywhere in the world.
